Council is now calling for nominations for the 2026 Cherbourg NAIDOC Community Acknowledgement Awards.
As we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC in 2026, this year’s awards are an opportunity to recognise and honour the people, organisations and quiet achievers who continue to make a positive difference in our community every day.
The awards celebrate community spirit, leadership, culture, service, sporting achievement, youth, creativity and dedication to making Cherbourg a stronger place for future generations.
Award winners will be announced during our upcoming NAIDOC Multicultural Celebrations, taking place on Tuesday 7th July 2026 from 10am to 4pm at the Cherbourg Sports Complex. More event details will be released soon.
If you know someone deserving of recognition, we encourage you to nominate them.
Nominations close Thursday 2nd July 2026.
