Council is reminding all tenants about the importance of keeping your yard neat, tidy, and free from overgrown grass. As we move through the warmer months, high grass can quickly become a safety hazard — attracting snakes, mice and other pests, and increasing risks during fire conditions.
Under the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008, tenants are required to keep their premises and yard clean. Council will be monitoring yards across community, and residents may receive a formal notice if their yard becomes overgrown.
We’re asking everyone to work with us to keep Cherbourg safe, healthy and looking deadly. If you need support with mowing, there are local mowing services available in the region.
Let’s continue working together to build a cleaner, safer Cherbourg for today and for our future generations.
