NOTICE to all tenants
Tenant’s Use Of Premises
It has been brought to Council’s attention that there are a number of illegal activities happening in some Council houses and Council would like this to stop immediately.
DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN BREACH OF YOUR TENANCY IF:
- you use your premises (house) for illegal purposes.
As per the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 Section 21 ss 10 and 184 (1) & (2)

- The tenant may use the premises ONLY as a place of residence.
- The tenant MUST NOT use the premises for an illegal purpose
Council is concerned about illegal activities in Council houses and will be monitoring this problem very closely. Tenants are requested to please take notice as failure to do so will result in you being issued with a notice to remedy to stop the illegal activity (this could lead to you being evicted from your house).
We are aware that there are good tenants who do not conduct illegal activities in their home WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR THIS.
