Boil Water Alert Lifted!

All residents and Guests in Cherbourg are advised that tap water is SAFE and can be used for
drinking.
This notice applies to all residents in Cherbourg from 29 July 2024.
There is no longer a public health concern over the quality of drinking water, and it now considered safe for all typical uses including drinking, use in food or beverages, personal washing, dishwashing, laundry purposes and flushing toilet.
This advice has been issued with support of the Darling Downs Public Health Unit (DDPHU) and the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water. Both agencies will continue to closely monitor the situation.
Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council has worked closely with Queensland Health and the Department of
Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water and other external parties to identify and resolve issues with the Water Treatment Plant and reticulation system.
Residents should flush out affected water from the pipes in their home.
Residents are asked to share this notice with neighbours and friends.
