Darling Downs Health will return to Cherbourg next week to provide COVID-19 vaccinations.
Residents who have questions or concerns about receiving a vaccination, are invited to an in-
person, question-and-answer session with Dr Katie Panaretto prior to the clinic’s first day on
Monday 6 September.
“There is a lot of information about the COVID-19 vaccination in the community and it can be hard
separating facts from myths,” Dr Katie said.
“These vaccinations are safe, effective and the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones
from getting very sick.
“I encourage everyone who has questions or concerns to come down to the town hall and have a yarn.”
Dr Katie said it was particularly important for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to consider
getting vaccinated.
“Sadly, we are now seeing in New South Wales and Victoria how this virus is impacting First Nations
communities,” Dr Katie said.
“This clinic is a great opportunity for people to not only protect themselves but also their
communities, elders and families.”
The Cherbourg vaccination clinic will be held from noon to 5pm on Monday 6 September; 8am to 4.30pm
from Tuesday 7 September to Thursday 9 September; and 8am to noon on Friday 10 September at the
Cherbourg Town Hall.
The clinic will be open to those getting their second COVID-19 vaccination (two doses are required
for full protection) as well as those wanting their first vaccination.
Those attending for their first vaccination are asked to please attend on either Monday or Friday.
The Q&A yarn with Dr Katie Panaretto will be held on Monday 6 September from 10.30am at
the town hall, prior to the clinic opening. All are welcome and morning tea will be provided.
