First Nations WHS Traineeship – Vacancy

We are seeking a confident, motivated, and safety driven individual seeking to start a career journey in the Work Health Safety (WHS) and Learning and Development (L&D) sector.

This role will learn to oversee the implementation and maintenance of the WHS management system and training registers.

Reporting to the HR Advisor you will promote the safety culture throughout the council as the WHS Representative for Corporate Services.

You won’t be working alone in this role, we have other safety, HR, L&D and risk team experts that will support and guide you.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake guided study in a Certificate III or IV in WHS over the course of the Traineeship
  • Maintaining the Incident reporting and Training Register
  • Conduct Risk Assessments
  • Conduct Tool Box talks and internal education sessions on various topics
  • Participate in Incident Investigations and education
  • Coordinate and participate in WHS Representative Committee Meetings
  • Assist the HR team with Learning and Development and coordinating training for all employees and trainee’s
  • Ensure HSE policies and procedures are met and maintained by all stakeholders.
  • Provide administration support when necessary
