Internal / External Job Vacancy – Full Time /Part Time Water and Sewerage Operator (Operations Department) – 6th March 2025
Due to CASC experiencing organisational growth and infrastructure upgrades we are seeking a skilled and qualified Water and Sewerage Operator.

Working for Council you will be ideally situated just 2 – 3 hours’ drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, the idyllic K’ Gari and Fraser Coast.
The region is renowned for its great wine, gourmet foods and recreational facilities such as BP Dam, Bunya Mountains, Lake Boondooma, and many regional tourist parks.
Reporting to the Water and Sewage Manager you will ensure sustainable water and sewerage operations throughout the community of Cherbourg. Main Role
- Maintain water and sewerage compliance
- Perform maintenance on sewerage treatment plant and water plant
- Perform water testing and plant adjustments
- Perform other duties as per managers direction
- Attend public health unit fortnightly visits
Key Selection Criteria
- A relevant qualification in Water and/or Wastewater Operations or ability to obtain (e.g. Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment)
- A current Queensland C Class driver’s licence
- A current Construction Industry Safety Induction (White Card)
- Confined Space Certificate (highly desirable)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision to established guidelines and procedures
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technology
- Demonstrated ability to complete all necessary paperwork associated with the position
- Demonstrated ability to represent the interests of Council proactively and professionally
- Knowledge and awareness of environmental issues associated with water and sewerage operations
- Knowledge and awareness of Workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations, including a sound knowledge of safe work practices
- Knowledge and awareness of Council’s policies and procedures
