Cherbourg Council celebrated a surprise award earlier this month after representatives were invited to an event in Brisbane marking the first 12 months of Containers for Change in Queensland.
In what was a totally unexpected outcome for attendees from Cherbourg Council, our communities Container Recycling Points (Cherbourg and now also Kingaroy) along with our processing plant, were recognised with the “Chairman’s Award”.
The Chairman’s Trophy, which is made of recycled glass were presented by Environment Minister Leeanne Enoch, who said the Containers for Change scheme had created about 700 jobs around Queensland over the past year.
