Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council is inviting expressions of interest from respected Cherbourg Elders to form the Elders Advisory Group. This group will provide valuable advice to the Council on a range of important matters.
About the Elders Advisory Group: The Elders Advisory Group will be established to offer guidance to the Council on referred issues, ensuring the inclusion of community wisdom and expertise in decision-making.
Role: The Group will deliver sound advice to the Council on referred matters, contributing to the betterment of the community.
Skills and Talents Sought:
- Well-connected individuals
- Knowledge and expertise in specific areas
- Recognized leaders within the community
- Extensive local knowledge
- Proven commitment to community improvement
- Collective wisdom
Expectations for Applicants:
- Must reside in Cherbourg
- Well-respected within the community
- Willingness to commit to the Group for at least 12 months
Support Provided:
- Assistance with governance and administrative duties
- Clear explanations of roles and responsibilities
- A dedicated support person for questions and concerns
- Regular contact and opportunities to connect with other community representatives

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to meet with a selection panel.
