FREE to VISIT Cherbourg – If you live in the Cherbourg “Travel Zone” : South Burnett Region, Gympie, Toowoomba and Noosa Regions – you can freely visit Cherbourg but you will need proof of residence in these regions.

Identification can include:

  • Drivers Licence, 18+ Card
  • Centrelink Card
  • Passport (not expired more than 2 years)
  • Birth Certificate (Not an extract)
  • Health Insurance Card
  • Medicare Card including family members
  • Motor Vehicle Registration/Electricity Account
  • Letter from Council CEO/Mayor verifying you are a resident
  • Known by QPS/Health Personnel of Cherbourg with QPrime verification

As at 12:01 AM 12th June 2020, the Commonwealth Bio-security Determination has been eased again. Further relaxation of restrictions come into effect for residents leaving and coming to Cherbourg.

The Declared Travel Zone for the Cherbourg determined area is as follows:

South Burnett, Toowoomba, Gympie, Noosa

What does this mean:

The current management for access exemption passes which was managed by the Cherbourg LDMG ceased as of 12:00 AM Friday June 12th.

All queries and applications will be dealt with by the Chief Health Officer – Dr Jeanette Young.

Residents of Cherbourg will have unlimited access into the areas identified as the Determined Travel Zone, off community for as long as you want.

Family who live outside of Cherbourg, but within the Declared Travel Zone, and wish to visit family will be allowed to travel into community – Persons wishing to enter Cherbourg from outside the Declared Travel Zone: there is a requirement visitors have a ‘Remote Community Pass’ with them

People travelling through the vehicle check point are encouraged to carry correct ID – driver’s license, 18+ card etc.

The Vehicle Check Point will remain in place and Australian Army and QPS will continue to manage the check point.
